Small Business, BIG RESULTS

As a local business owner myself, I know that there is something truly special about the entrepreneurial spirit in our neighborhoods. I’ve always found that the most rewarding part of my work in real estate is the opportunity to connect directly with the people and places I serve. If you’re looking to grow your local footprint without breaking the bank, I’ve put together three of my favorite ways to get involved and get noticed right here in Kensington and Talmadge.

  1. Join the Kensington Talmadge Business Association (KTBA) - Whether you run a storefront on Adams Avenue or operate a boutique consultancy from your home office, the KTBA is a fantastic resource. This organization is dedicated to supporting the small businesses that give our area its character. Membership is affordable and opens the door to bi-monthly networking mixers where you can brainstorm with fellow CEOs and collaborate on local challenges. Members are also featured in the annual directory distributed throughout the community and get a front-row seat at the annual Spring Walkabout—a premier event for showcasing your services to your neighbors. Visit KenTalBiz.org to learn more.

  2. Lean into Local Sponsorships - Community events like block parties and concerts are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods. People here take pride in supporting "local" over "big box," and a sponsorship is a brilliant way to show you’re invested in the community. The Talmadge Block Party is just around the corner, and we are currently looking for sponsors! Whether you are a CPA, a massage therapist, or a local artisan, there are sponsorship tiers to fit every budget. It’s a high-impact way to get your name in front of your neighbors while supporting the events we all love. For details on this year’s opportunities, reach out to TalmadgeBlockParty@gmail.com.

  3. Advertise in the Ken-Tal News - I am proud to manage the Ken-Tal News, a publication that reaches porches and mailboxes throughout Kensington and Talmadge. We offer flexible advertising spots that allow you to update your message monthly—perfect for promoting seasonal specials or new services. Beyond traditional ads, I am always looking to highlight the people behind our local brands through our "Meet your Neighbor" feature. This is a complimentary spotlight for local residents and business owners. If you’d like to be featured as space becomes available, please reach out to me directly at Megan@MeganB.com

For me, real estate has always been about more than just a transaction; it’s about the lifestyle we build together and the relationships that sustain it. My clients know they can call me for anything - from a market update to a referral for a trusted contractor or CPA. I strive to be a resource for this community in every sense of the word.

If you have other great ideas for supporting local businesses, I’d love to hear them and of course, whether you’re looking for a real estate expert or just a solid local recommendation, I’m always here to help.
