How Do I Love Thee, Kensington & Talmadge…Let Me Count The Ways…

If you live in the area, you know how incredibly lucky you are. But if you are exploring areas, let me list for you some special features you may not be aware of:

1. Central, yet secluded…these neighborhoods are so central, you can get almost anywhere within the City in 10-15 minutes. On the flip side, both communities end in canyons, eliminating a lot of the through traffic many other urban neighborhoods experience.

2. “Neighborliest” neighbors…whether walking your dog in Talmadge or grabbing a meal at one of Kensington’s great restaurants (that’s number 3), you are sure to run in to a friend(ly) neighbor and enjoy a nice chat. Every time this happens to me, I am filled with a sense of belonging and pride of my community.

3. Award winning restaurants…Kensington offers some of my favorite restaurants in all of San Diego and a terrific variety, at that! El Cajon Blvd also has some great eateries too and some of the best Pho around!! How lucky to have such culinary diversity just minutes away in almost all directions!

4. Shhhh….did you hear that? Here in Ken-Tal, you will not find excessive air traffic, the sound of cruise ships blowing their horns at night, or train noises! Sure, there are some streets that overlook a freeway here and there, but for the most part, these communities enjoy peace and quiet, and the sweet chirp of the birds instead.

5. Our own private freeway access…at least, that’s how it feels! With the 15 or Fairmount feeding directly to the 8, we have some of the easiest freeway access to be found!
