COMMUNITY is EVERYTHING to me! Kensington and Talmadge are some of the most special neighborhoods I have had the pleasure of working and living in, where residents enjoy sense of pride of residency with many opportunities to experience local activities as well as to serve on volunteer panels and groups that enhance the lifestyle we have all come to know and love.
Through my volunteer efforts as President of the Kensington Talmadge Business Association, I have recently had the pleasure of spending some time with our Community Relations Officer (CRO), Terry Hoskins and learned that we need to get the word out about Terryās role and involvement, and genuine concern about the safety and security of the areas he covers and appears to have a heartfelt love for.
Many of you that are already involved in community groups are well aware of Terryās presence in Ken-Tal. If you are not aware of our CRO, let me introduce you!
Officer Hoskinsā role is to serve as your liaison to the San Diego Police Department. Ā Be aware that he is not always made aware of issues that may be experienced by neighborhood residents unless you communicate that to him. Ā I learned that detectives and street officers do not reach out to the CROās to let them know about occurrences. Ā If you have ANY concern about goings on in our communities, please be pro-active and contact Officer Hoskins directly (in addition to going through the regular channels at SDPD in the event of a crime). Sometimes Terry can help in ways that the detectives canāt due to his involvement in the community.Ā In the past, he has been instrumental in resolving issues that have come up.
Officer Hoskins hosts a meet and greet CRO dialogue every Monday at the Copley Price Family YMCA between 12-1pm, and every Wednesday at Scrimshaw Coffee between 12-1 pm. If you have not attended a CRO Dialogue and want to get to know Terry a bit better, please attend and ask your questions! Ā He is all ears and truly wants to help us all in our efforts to continually improve our experiences here!Ā Terry can be reached atĀ [email protected], or at 619-517-0936.Ā Thank you for all you do for the community, Officer Hoskins!
